I have wanted to try a race for a few years now and finally signed up for one, the west hurley burly. I am wondering if there is anything i should know as far as " race etiquette" or any helpful advice. I am terrified and very excited!

1-have fun
2-don't be an ass
3-pass where you can safely
4-let other pass where they can-don't block them out: see #2
5-announce "on your left" or "love to get by when ya get a chance" when you pass
6-have fun
7-walking stuff in races is ok-there are no bonus points for cleaning tech _________________ If I can bicycle, I bicycle.

It went pretty well considering I didn't puke or crash although I came close to both multiple times. Pretty sure i was dead last in my group but I had a lot of fun and met some cool people. The trail was awesome but beat the crap out of me, can't wait to do it again! _________________ Down till im in the ground! |

Pat, was it you I was talking to towards the end of the race, going up a hill? Asked if you were from Fats. Didn't see you after the race. |

Almost puked at Tymor in my first race... I try to race once a year-ish. I did the Dark Horse one hot muddy year. I had carried a banana that turned to mush after 31 miles. I was eating it at the crest of a hill -dropped some banana mush & one of the next dudes along ate the banana mush I spilled off the ground. I love that story _________________ Pedal, b*tches!! |

I don't think so but I was a little out of it at that point. I had one of the new fats jerseys on.
That's a funny and gross story! _________________ Down till im in the ground! |
