tearing up snowmobile and down in the gut. If you see them, report it! Note- these are quads, not 4x4 trucks.

They live nearby & are the ones who party & leave trash @ a few spots in the Gut. The worst offenders in the park. They blasted the bottom of Border trail @ a party last month...

I've sent emails to the local rangers and regional office, for whatever reason I haven't gotten a single reply. I was happy that my last ride at 909 a couple weeks ago the trash was picked up at the campsite and the tarp left behind with yard clippings was gone (the clippings left there are a nice barrier though), but it gets trashed again in no time. The last users at the campsite left red hot smoking embers in the firepit, it coulda set off a forest fire if it was windy that day. I've said it over and over, locking the gates will keep illegal motorized users out, except of course the quads. The gates at every other MUA are closed and locked, why is 909 the exception? If anyone needs legitimate access how hard would it be to make a phone call for the keys? And nobody can honestly tell me the quads can't be caught, every and I mean every freakin time I go there they show up, always through the gut entrance. Come on, I think they really don't care and just aren't trying at all. Somebody from the DEC answer this and prove me wrong.

I think the answer to this problem is dynamite...and lots of it. Ok ok seriously, about 3 weeks back around sunset, I was going for a night ride and one of the rangers asked me if I'd heard any quads. Told him unfortunately, I only just arrived, but would keep an ear out. I left about 1 1/2 hrs later and he was just leaving. So I think they must patrol, just not often enough. I have some ideas on how to keep quads out, but they involve paintball guns....and dynamite.

I'm happy to hear they're attempting to patrol now, but I emphasize the word attempt. All they need to do is park anywhere other than the gut lot where they can be seen, head down there, hang out and wait for 'em. I wouldn't mind them if they would stay on the logging roads or old abandoned trails, but we all know they can't be trusted to not tear up manicured and maintained trails and sensitive wetlands.
