Anyone care to give a tour during the day on either Sat. or Sun.? I don't have lights and would like to check this place out. I won't be riding at race pace or anything but I like to have fun and am in decent shape.
Thanks

Would love to give you a tour Tom but Pedaler is right, hunting season is not the time to be going. Once the big guns calm down we'll be able to get back in there and mess around. In the meantime we are planning on riding North Lake this Sunday. Care to join us? _________________ C'mon!! |

Yeah Tom, I agree with what both of them said, Jockey Hill would probably be the last place Id ride during hunting season. If its a mild winter like last year without much snow, we'll be up there again during the day real soon _________________ greg

Actually, I was thinking about going with something a little more compact this year. |

On a serious note. The hunters pay a lot more money that we do to use the state land. As an organized group (Federated Sportsman), they are huge and have a lot of power with the state. We should respect their time in the woods and stick to areas where hunting is not permitted. I don't think we as mountain bikers want to start a battle with them in which we come out looking badly. Right now The Fats in the Cats have a good reputaition in the area and I would hate to see that jeopardized. We need the DEC and local law enforcement to start patroling Jockey Hill to catch the 4 wheelers and idiots dumbping tires and other junk. They really don't do anyting now and if we start getting complaints about us they will never listen.
Just my 2 cents |

I've got to agree with Doug concerning the respect thing....just like a few bad hunters can leave a lasting impression, so can a few "bad" bikers..... _________________ Ride Hard, Finish Smilin'! And may every ride be your "Best Ride Ever!" |
