Hey everybody!

Come out and advocate for safe roads to ride on Monday September 11; the one year anniversary of the horrible hit-and-run where Gaby O'Shea was left for dead after a driver hit her from behind on Route 299. Gaby survived but has a long road to recovery and her life has been changed significantly. She still can't ride a bike again but is working hard to get there.

We will ride to the site of Gaby's crash which is also very close to the site of another bike/car crash that happened a few weeks ago.

So come out to mark this anniversary and encourage local and state officials to do the right thing to make the roads safer for cyclists. We all have a stake in this game!

There is nothing to share on the road. Cyclists should stay off the streets. They pose a danger to themselves, and other motorists. Unfortunately it seems it will only take multiple car accidents, and serious personal injuries for cyclists and public officials to gain common sense. Cyclists should be barred from the road."

I was quite impressed with the turnout on this ride! It was a great thing to see so many cyclists of all ages and abilities come together to demand that lawmakers make the roads safer. Even if you're not a road rider, we all benefit when the roads are safer - I hope to see this ride get bigger and bigger every year!
