About 2" of powder, with less under hemlocks as in Pond Gut. Excellent winter riding!

I ran the trails this afternoon, they were in great condition, certainly good for riding. The roads were icy and worthy of studs.

Did a sweet loop. Just barely able to do it on my singlespeed. It was slow grind but still fun. Was around 1-3:00 before the bigger snow hit.

Any updated info on 909 conditions would be greatly appreciated, especially after today's thaw and hopefully tomorrow's. Suitable for fatbike, studded 26er, or plain old 29er? Thank you much...

I was at 909 Fri evening to xc ski and the woods (bushwhack) were nice for skiing, the road was good, snowmobile was too ripped up and rocky for my tastes, and overall it was already losing snow and getting really wet.

I imagine it is quite muddy today! I ran at FDR yesterday on the trails and it was a great workout--about 4 in of thick wet snow on top of freezing water, perfect to cool me down because it was so warm outside. HP was too snowy yesterday for me to run, probably not enough snow for xc ski.

909 might be great come Tuesday. If all the snow melts and it gets as cold as they say. The trails should be half frozen and frost "heavey" perfect for fatbikes!
Also wondering about Stewart?

I drove through 909 on the fire road today. All of the snow is gone. Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow (Monday) but the rest of the week looks good. From what I saw, there will be muddy areas, but hard pack areas should be fine. Mud should be frozen on Tuesday and Wednesday based on the forecast. I'm going to ride it Tuesday on my 26er with velociraptor tires.

909 Trail Report 2pm: 5+ bikers, 2 labrador retrievers walking human.

The trails were surprisingly dry, no ice, some water flowing in the usual places on Timbuk2 and Mustang. The streams are deeper than they look.

Around noon yesterday it was above freezing on the "upper trails." Then I descended into Pond Gut where it was below freezing. Before I was aware of it my front derailleur had frozen to one ring... A lesson re-learned about water crossings.

Christmas Eve a quick snow squall blew thru the PV area and gave it crusty inch of snow/ice. The trails will def be covered & slippery now as my lawn and back woods are covered. I'm only 3 miles from 909 so i'm assuming the same for over there. Break out your new Xmas studded tires or fat bike!

I did not heed the warnings about using studded tires and now I have a big fat elbow!!! I am going to go straight to bikeway and get the things I need to get the Soma (my winterbike) together. I just need brake pads and a powerlink and I will be good to go. Maybe it will snow more so I can ski again.
